We offer a variety of workshops and experiences that allow participants to sense and learn how they can impact their overall function, health and pain relief by embodying somatic learning principles of movement. The idea is to re-train your body to first consciously learn how to move in ways that allow the systems of the body to offer support, alignment and healing. It is only then that the brain and nervous system will unconsciously choose the most available and appropriate response for what is needed in the moment and avoidance of future injury, illness or disease.

Description: At the heart of the human experience, the "how" of walking shapes physical comfort, security, emotional well-being, and happiness, regardless of medical diagnosis. Every pain doctor, mental and physical healthcare professional, and wellness coach stress how important it is to go out for walks. But what if your walks are hurting? Many do not know that walking is beneficial only if it is balanced. What if walking could be more beneficial, enjoyable and wellness-producing? This course offers a different solution for chronic pain and discomfort in the neck, shoulder, wrist, upper/lower back, and reoccurring injuries and strains.
Using the sensory learning platforms of the Feldenkrais Method ® and Bones for Life ®, the professional and the layperson both discover the cause and effect relationship between poor patterns of movement and wellness. This course advances beyond the traditional study of characteristics found in the stance and swing phases of gait. Using Integral Human Gait Theory ™, we explore a comprehensive map that far exceeds the current understanding of physical medicine, rehabilitation, and sports training.
